Even a Touch of Light in the Bedroom Increases the Risk of Depression:-
A lot of people around the world are struggling with depression, since many are trying to find a way to prevent it. Among other things, the quality of sleep is one of the things that suffers when a person faces depression.
Researchers have observed that not having light at all in the bedroom is a way to reduce the chances of depression. They discovered that even a little light from the space between curtains or on the screen of the smart phone can confuse the body’s clock to cause symptoms of depression.
While previous studies showed how night-light disrupts the sleep cycle, they did not explain enough how it relates to depression. The new study revealed that people who were exposed to 5 lumens of light beyond bedtime had a higher risk of developing depression compared to those who slept in the dark.
Another 2009 study showed that people who stayed in a room on fire 24 hours a day were more likely to suffer from depression.
