New Delhi: Over the past five years, the number of people seeking homeopathy in India has increased by 50 percent, the government reported Tuesday and said it was “clinically effective.”
Homeopathy is a system of alternative medicine and is known as the safest treatment for any condition. Many people swear by its effectiveness.
Although they are considered safe, the nature of homeopathic medicines is also often the subject of critical debates.
Unfortunately, there are people who influence efficacy by saying that they are no more effective than placebo drugs, which often raises questions about whether people are resistant to it.
“In India, at 23 institutes / units under the Central Research Council on Homeopathy (CCRH), there are 50 percent more pedestrians of patients who are looking for homeopathic treatment during the last five years,” said AYUSH Minister of State (Independent Charge ) Shripad Yesso Naik.
“Homeopathy is not a pseudoscience The conclusion of the most comprehensive systematic reviews of studies based on classical homeopathy has concluded that it has a positive and specific effect that is greater than that of placebo,” he said in a written reply in the Senate.
Homeopathy is promoted because it is not only safe and effective, but also because of the high acceptance by high-quality research into the use of homeopathy, said Naik, adding that there is evidence that homeopathy is beneficial.
“There are fact-based data (not anecdotal) with CCRH that justify the promotion or acceptance of homeopathy in India,” said the minister.
